Yesterday my sister in China told me her grandson has become interested in playing with bottle caps.
This reminded me of something that happened 3 years ago. At that time, a girl who was 1 year old liked playing with bottle caps too.
One day while I was helping the girl twist open the bottle cap, I put a small ball inside the bottle, so that every time she shook the bottle, there would be a nice sound. The girl loved the toy, and repeatedly played with this bottle "rattle" for many days, and stayed interested in it every day.
One day, when it was hometime, the girl didn't want to leave the bottle behind and I let her take it home with her.
Next morning, the girl's mum told me that the girl loved the toy, and had only played with the bottle all night. However, the bottle accidentally rolled under the sofa. She quickly crawled down to look for it, and started crying when she couldn't find it. Her dad tried to give her lots of different toys, until finally her dad moved the sofa to fetch the bottle. Only then did the girl stop crying, and happily continued to play with the bottle.
This story tells us that a good toy doesn't have to be expensive.
